I was hired by Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation to design the exhibit FOCUSED: A Century of Virginia Indian Resilience at the Jamestown Settlement Museum in Jamestown, Virginia. The exhibit is currently on display from January 2021 to March 2022.
I resized and edited more than 150 photos, repairing damage from dust and scratches. Photo paper texture and printer dots were also reduced where applicable. I then printproofed them to ensure each photo on the wall would look its best.
Every graphic except for the mural and life-sized vinyl figures were printed and assembled in-house. I designed, printed, and trimmed more than 150 photos, 40 text panels, 28 labels, and 18 pull quotes/headers for install. I also designed the title banner and wayfinding signage.
The most challenging part of the project was designing the mural. It’s 14 feet wide by 8 feet tall, and by far took the longest.
Banners were designed, printed, and assembled by Michael Grenz.
